ApeCoin’s 'Blueprint' Talks Big for ApeChain, Will It Be Enough to Keep Once High-Flying Crypto Afloat?

ApeCoin DAO has outlined plans to differentiate ApeChain from the competition.

Developers believe “The Blueprint” will offer users the best quality experience.

ApeChain’s success could be key to ApeCoin’s revitalization amid declining NFT interest. Once a high-flying cryptocurrency, ApeCoin, the native token of Yuga Labs‘ proposed metaverse ecosystem, has plummeted nearly 98% from its all-time high in the past two years, leaving investors reeling. But as the token struggles to regain its footing, a planned Layer 2 project dubbed ApeChain may offer a path to recovery. In February 2024, ApeCoin DAO chose Arbitrum technology to build the Layer 2 chain and has since launched a testnet called Curtis. Recently, developers have unveiled “The Blueprint” to make the project a success. Could ApeChain be the lifeline that ApeCoin desperately needs?ApeCoin DAO Unveils BlueprintApeCoin DAO wants to offer “the highest quality experience” to ApeChain users. On Wednesday, September 4, ApeCoin DAO unveiled “The Blueprint” for ApeChain, outlining plans to achieve this goal and more. Sponsored The Blueprint promises to make it easy for users to discover and explore applications within the ecosystem. It also offers unique Web3 rails and a funnel for ApeChain exposure.The Blueprint’s initiatives include a dedicated website for ecosystem exploration set to launch this month and partnerships with Halliday, a crypto onboarding solution provider, Decent, a cross-bridging solution provider, and Privy, an account abstraction solution provider.At the same time, it will also see the encouragement of applications that foster competition by leveraging Reboot Protocol, a development kit that makes it easy for applications to integrate wagering and reward features. ApeChain will also boast native yield, which developers claim will be instantly withdrawable across ApeCoin, ETH, and stablecoins.To drive exposure, ApeCoin DAO will leverage its partnership with leading fashion brand BAPE and its role in Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse.Meanwhile, ApeChain will also leverage several key Arbitrum tools and features, such as Arbitrum Stylus, which will give developers more flexibility by allowing them to build DApps with Rust. The Blueprint also includes initiatives like the Banana Bill, which boasts a 100 million APE fund to incentivize development through grants.How ApeChain Could Impact ApeCoinUntil now, ApeCoin’s fortunes have largely been tied to interest in Yuga Labs’ NFTs, particularly the Bored Ape Yacht Club Collection (BAYC). These NFTs, like the broader NFT market, have, however, been underwater since the 2022 crypto market crash, so far failing to recover their previous glory despite the general belief that crypto is back in a bull market. ApeChain offers a broader narrative for ApeCoin beyond Yuga Labs’ NFTs and metaverse. As the native gas token on the network, high activity will also spark greater demand for the token. ApeChain’s leveraging of Arbitrum further compounds the effects of this potential increased demand features like Timeboost, which allow users to pay priority fees to fast-track transactions. ApeCoin DAO explained that half of these priority fees will be burnt, increasing ApeCoin’s deflation.In the 24 hours following the unveiling of the ApeChain Blueprint, ApeCoin is trading nearly 10% higher at around the $0.64 price point despite largely quiet market conditions.On the Flipside  The timeline for ApeChain’s launch remains unclear.

Several factors beyond The Blueprint will likely affect ApeChain’s success, including overarching market conditions. Why This Matters ApeCoin’s prospects have looked bleak amid continued disinterest in NFTs. ApeChain promises to broaden the token’s horizons.Read this for more on ApeCoin’s ApeChain:Polygon (MATIC) Loses Bid To Build ApeCoin DAO Layer 2See what the MATIC to POL upgrade changes:Polygon’s MATIC to POL Upgrade Goes Live: What Changes and What’s Next?  .social-share-icons { display: flex; flex-direction: row; margin-top: 32px; margin-bottom: 16px; gap: 8px; } .social-share-icons a { display: inline-block; color: #555; text-decoration: none; } .social-share-icons svg { width: 31px; height: 31px; }
