Shibburn, the official Shiba Inu (SHIB) burning tracker, got suspended on Twitter this Saturday. Naturally, the surprising move by Twitter enraged SHIB Army from around the world, as both Twitter and Reddit are filled with requests for help from Chief Twit Elon Musk, while others accuse the extravagant billionaire of trying to eliminate Shiba Inu from the dog race.

Musk is a well-known rival Dogecoin (DOGE) supporter, which is also currently the largest Proof of Work (PoW) blockchain aside from Bitcoin (BTC). DOGE and SHIB moved similarly in the weekly crypto charts with up to 7% gains but were overshadowed by another popular memecoin Pepe Token (PEPE), with 66% in the green.

So far, Elon Musk hasn’t responded to Shibburn’s official request for assistance nor to DailyCoin for his take on the situation. “A message on the Developer Portal states that our app has violated Twitter Rules and policies,” reads the letter on Twitter, while Shibburn’s admin also pointed out the negligent customer service regarding the matter.

Vanished Emails Or Erased Competition?

Interestingly, Shibburn representatives pointed out that an email was supposed to be sent but never reached the inbox. In response, many prominent Shiba Inu community members expressed their support for Shibburn, including crypto influencer Keyur Rohit

Seeking the reinstatement of Shibburn, another famous crypto influencer, LucieSHIB, advised Shiba Inu acolytes to follow the latest burning procedures on Shibburn.com, the official site that keeps a database of all the burns sent across three different dead addresses, including the Black Hole and Vitalik Buterin’s famed burning wallet.

Unselfishly, Mr. Buterin, the founder of Ethereum (ETH), decided to take 50% of his beloved canine Shiba Inu tokens out of circulation in a charity act for an emerging community of crypto and dog enthusiasts.

On the other hand, Musk never directly supported Shiba Inu, but Twitter’s unexpected logo change to Dogecoin’s mascot definitely had a positive impact on both dog-themed memecoins.

On the Flipside

Shibburn admin on Twitter clarified today that the official account is now active, but the Twitter automation bot that posts hourly updates is still suspended.

Some crypto enthusiasts on Crypto Twitter labeled Shibburn a scam for allegedly hiding contract addresses.

Why This Matters

Shibburn is an essential service to the Shiba Inu community. The Shibburn burn tracker even hosts a radio station in New York, which can be accessed on a mobile app.
